Echo Park Film Center (established 2001) and the EPFC Collective (launched 2022) provide all-ages community film/video workshops, screenings, resources and residencies in Los Angeles and around the world. Welcome to our cinematic revolution!

The EPFC Collective is a fluid and ever-evolving multi-generational, multi-cultural working group that came together in 2022 with open hearts to share an array of skills, experiences, and interests, united in our passionate belief in the power and joy of collaborative creative practice to support and strengthen community.

Coming from all walks of life, Collective members include award-winning filmmakers and animators, community and university educators, art school grads, self-taught filmmakers, queer and BIPOC artists, film industry professionals, social justice activists, and EPFC youth film program alumni. We can’t wait to meet you!

 

Meet the EPFC Collective Members

  • Ale

    Ale is a community organizer, artist, aspiring circle keeper, and bike rider based in the San Fernando Valley.

  • Emett Casey

    Emett Casey is a filmmaker who works in both digital and analog traditions. His films run a wide spectrum from abstraction to documentary to narrative.

  • Monica Chavez

    Monica Chavez is an LA Native (East Hollywood) who graduated from CSULA with a degree in Chicano Studies. She currently works as a location manager for feature films, tv and commercials.

  • Paolo Davanzo

    Paolo Davanzo is a filmmaker, educator and one of the co-founders of the Echo Park Film Center back in 2001. He believes in the power of cinema and storytelling to bring love and hope to the world.

  • Daniel Garcia

    Californian audio and mixed media producer. Dog person, but one day cats and canines will live in harmony. Always down or up for a project.

  • Gemma Jimenez Gonzalez

    Gemma Jimenez Gonzalez is a mixed media artist, educator, and community-based urban planner. Her creative practice explores regeneration of urban ecology, mobility, and development.

  • Karissa Hahn

    Karissa Hahn is a Los Angeles based artist who makes short films that highlight the hidden intensities of the everyday.

  • Andrew Kim

    Andrew Kim is a filmmaker based in Los Angeles, CA. He has made short films about things like ghosts, robots, and miniature horses.

  • Eve-Lauryn Little Shell LaFountain

    Eve-Lauryn Little Shell LaFountain is a multimedia artist based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She's been part of the EPFC Famiglia for over 13 years.

  • Lisa Marr

    Lisa Marr loves making movies and music with communities all over the world. She’s been part of the EPFC Family since 2001.

  • Shauna McGarry

    Shauna McGarry has been a proud part of the EPFC tribe since 2005 as a teacher and then a board member. She mostly works writing tv, mainly about female best friends - bird, alien, coyote, human — any kind really.

  • Beaux Geste Mingus

    Originally from Bakersfield, CA, Beaux Geste Mingus is a filmmaker, artist and educator whose work focuses on capturing intimate, personal rituals and the emotional resonance of overlooked places.

  • Minnie

    “I’m Minnie. I’m also Paper Princess Press and Grrrlworld Zine. The Grrrlworld Tapes on Optical Track are one of my many diaries.”

  • Gina Marie Napolitan

    Gina Marie Napolitan is an experimental filmmaker, multimedia artist, and arts educator originally from Brockton, Massachusetts, now residing in Los Angeles.

  • Will O’Loughlen

    Will O’Loughlen is a native South Dakotan who graduated from Memphis State University. He has taught at the Echo Park Film Center since 2008.

  • Ellie Parker

    ellie parker (she/her) is an artist from Los Angeles, currently based in Brooklyn. ellie's work is interdisciplinary by nature, harmonizing poetic text, the moving image, and photography. passionate about communal practice, she loves teaching filmmaking workshops and hosting poetry readings. ellie has been a member of the EPFC family since 2010 and is excited to bring the EPFC spirit to our collaborative NYC contingency. check out her website to learn more.

  • Chloe Reyes

    Chloe Reyes is an artist and filmmaker from Los Angeles. She first got involved at EPFC as a student in the youth program. Since then, she has continued to teach film classes and facilitate screenings.

  • Hilary Rhode

    Hilary Rhode loves hikes, dogs, trees and numbers. She’s been serving on the EPFC Board of Directors as Treasurer since 2012.

  • Lily Sarosi

    Hey! My name is Lily. I’m a filmmaker, teacher, and projectionist originally from LA. I enjoy walking around and making movies with my friends. Lately, i’ve been collaborating with others to bring the EPFC vision to NYC.

  • Cosmo Segurson

    Los Angeles native Cosmo Segurson was raised by Jazz musicians and old cartoons on TV. As a full fledged adult, he works professionally in the animation industry and continues to follow his passion of making short films and experimenting on his own, combining live action, 2D and stop motion techniques.

  • Shar aka SharStar aka Dj Smoke Lotus

    Shar aka SharStar aka Dj Smoke Lotus, is an audio visual creative who loves to Dj & make films about family, spirituality, community & music culture.

  • Nicole Ucedo

    Nicole Ucedo joined the EPFC Co-op (now Collective) in 2018 and has never looked back! She makes short films that lean more towards performance art with a focus on movement through the spaces of Los Angeles.
