A BEGINNERS GUIDE TO 16MM FILMMAKING

  • Long Beach Community Media Arts at PLACE LB 2172 Pacific Avenue Long Beach, CA, 90806 United States (map)

Workshop with Long Beach Community Media Arts at PLACE LB A BEGINNERS GUIDE TO 16MM FILMMAKING WORKSHOP Saturday, December 13th: Noon - 3PM

Join us for a hands-on workshop where you'll learn the basics of shooting 16mm film!

Using the 16mm Bolex camera, we’ll learn about film history, camera mechanics and analogue cinematography techniques and then put our new knowledge into practice as we do some filming of our own and possibly even some hand processing! We will shoot one roll together as a team, but everyone will have a chance to shoot:-)

This very low-key, DIY, hands-on workshop is perfect for filmmakers of all experience levels, but it will be very beginner friendly, and focuses heavily on working and learning together! WE BELIEVE ART FLOURISHES WHEN IT IS PRACTICED AS A DEMOCRATIC, COMMUNAL EXPERIENCE!

Space is limited and will fill up fast, so please let us know at least 24 hours in advance if you can’t make the class so we can release your space to another participant. See you there!
